Why do you need to know? Thinking about taking the Mark yourself now?

I have my father's old journals. He was in the First War, and I think he mentioned something about the Mark somewhere. When it was first being used. I'll look through them.

In the meantime, I do know that it's a very dark type of magic. It hurts like all of hell when you get branded. We could use them to summon each other, to summon him, he could use it to summon us or to inflict pain across a distance. I would compare it to a lower form of the cruciatus.

We could also speak through it, somehow.

I was asked to research it. And I'm not even going to dignify that second question with an answer.

Would you? That would really help. I don't even know where to begin finding information. It's not the type of thing that people publish countless books on and then leave in the public arena. That said, I'm going to go home later and see what I do have. I picked up a lot of things seventh year. I might try the Ministry, too.
